University of Riverside is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. This institution has been participating in the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) since May 2009.

University of Riverside is approved by the Board of Registered Nursing to offer continuing education courses. Course offered meet the requirements of Sections 1456 and 1457, Title 16, California Code of Regulations

The content of all continuing education courses are relevant to the practice of registered nursing and:

• Related to the scientific knowledge and/or technical skills required for the practice of nursing, or
• Related to direct and/or indirect patient/client care

In accordance with the provisions of Division 2 Chapters 13 and 14 of the Business and Profession Code, the University of Riverside is approved by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, as a continuing education provider. The BBS is responsible for consumer protection through the regulation of Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT); Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW); Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP); Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC); MFT Interns (IMF); Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASW); and Professional Clinical Counselor Interns (PCCI) in the State of California. It is one of the boards within the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
